In addition to 360 content, the RCX 360 ecosystem allows you to upload standard images to a project. A flat image consists of the following:
- A name
- A collection of tags
- An image
Creating a new flat image
Flat images must be created while editing an already existing project. While editing a project, click "Create a flat image" to get started.
Name
The name of the flat image is automatically pre-filled from the image file name uploaded. This can be changed to whatever name is appropriate.
Tags can be applied to flat images to allow for easier searching and organisation in 360 View. Any number of tags can be applied to a single flat image.
During the upload process, there is a section that allows for tag application:
- Enter the name of a tag in the "Tag..." input field.
- A list of existing tags in your workspace may be displayed based on your input. If your desired tag is in this list, you can select it to automatically apply the tag. Otherwise, click "Add tag" to apply the tag to the flat image.
- Repeat this process for the desired number of tags.
Image files
There are some restrictions placed on files uploaded to 360 Manage to ensure a combination of viewing quality and delivery speed. These are:
- The image file size may not be larger than 5 MB.
- The image dimensions may not be larger than 6,000 x 3,000 pixels.
- The image file must be either .png, .jpg or .webp format.
If the uploaded image is larger than 5 MB in size and/or 6,000 x 3,000 pixels in dimensions, the image will be compressed to best meet both of these requirements.
Editing an existing flat image
Select a flat image under a project to edit it. This will bring up a form with the flat image information pre-filled.
Sharing a flat image
Flat images can be shared with others via a QR code or a direct link. While editing a flat image, click the "Sharing" button to bring up a window that will allow you to view the QR code. This code can be downloaded and shared with others.
If you prefer to share a direct link instead, click "Copy link" in the share window.
Flat images can also be shared from 360 View.
Sharing status
Flat images can have a permission applied to them that restricts who can view the flat image via the QR code or direct link. The status must be one of the following:
- Public: anyone who scans the QR code is able to see this flat image
- Private: only users with accounts who are assigned to this flat image or its project can view this flat image
- Inherit: take on the same status as the flat image's project
